F344/Stm(RNB1)
The F344/Stm rat is a parental strain of the LEXF/FXLE recombinant inbred (RI) strains. The strain was developed by Shisa et al at the Saitama Cancer Center Research Institute from the F344/DuCrj strain (Charles River Japan, Inc.). The coat color is albino (c). The characteristics are medium size, docile and good breeding performance. The polymorphic rate of our 357 SSLP makers is 83% against BN/SsNHsd strain and 73% against LE/Stm strain.

LE/Stm(RNB2)
The LE/Stm rat is a parental strain of the LEXF/FXLE recombinant inbred (RI) strains. The strain was developed by Shisa et al at the Saitama Cancer Center Research Institute from a closed colony of Long-Evans (University of Chicago). The coat color is fawn-hooded and ruby eye (a,B,C,h,r). The characteristics are relatively small size and prone to bleeding. The polymorphic rate of our 357 SSLP makers is 85% against BN/SsNHsd strain and 73% against F344/Stm strain.
